Fred Nuttall played in various bands around the Hutt Valley in the early to mid 1970`s one of them being a band named "Atmosphere" a wellington based band.
Fred then moved to Whangarei in the late 1970s where he played at The"Chalet restaurant" with Bill Coleman - Richard Hall - Taffy Jones - Soloman Greening - Lesley Hibbs.
Fred moved to Auckland in the early 1980s and secured gigs at The "Gateway Lodge" - "Dallows restaurant" and the "Trovador Restaurant" in St Lukes shopping complex where Ron Brown-Rigg was the manager/owner, Fred ended up working there for several years during the 1980s, not only in the band but running the entertainment side, recruiting different band members for various occasions, Fred played with many of Aucklands top musicians during his time at the Trovador, he also did various pub gigs on Aucklands North Shore.
Band members Fred recruited during this time in Auckland included (but not limited to) were Brian Tupp, Mario Cruz, Johnny Fox, Bill Nuku, Mark Wenski, Rick Warren.
Fred also filled in regularly at the "New Orient Restaurant" in The Strand Arcade for the resident band "Nightshift Duo" when they were off on road gigs.
Fred Nuttall returned to live in Wellington in 1989, before finally moving back to Whangarei mid 1990`s where he worked as a chef.
Fred Nuttall passed away 1st August 2022
