Ian Brown (Brownie) A popular and well respected organist keyboard player vocalist, very notable for his huge Hammond "B" Series Leslie speaker which flooded rooms with haunting sound, Ian worked for many years through the 1960s - 1970s - 1980s - 1990s in restaurants and clubs in Christchurch and Auckland.
Brownie played regularly at the Ming Court (pictured above) during the 1980`s which was a very popular dine and dance Chinese restaurant in Highbury North Shore Auckland. The Ming Court opened in 1979, I am not certain when it closed it`s doors permanently.
Ian Brown Also worked for Roland NZ and gave great demo`s of their featured JUNO and JUPITER Synthesisers. Make no mistake Ian was the guru of all classic organs and keyboards.
Ian Brown passed away November 2011
