"The Bitter End" were another R&B group from 1965 to 1968 with many changes of lineup. They included Peter Hall on vocals Peter Raxworthy on Lead Guitar, Jimmy Dwan on rhythm guitar Roger Knox on Bass and Alan Bateup on drums. Also in the group at different times were Mike Farrell, Ben Kaika,Glyn Mason, George Barris and Dave Orams, a virtual whos-who of Wellington's finest musicians..
The many dances and clubs around Wellington and suburbs at that time were popular with teenagers, as the pubs closed at 6pm until 1967, and as the drinking age was 21, this ensured groups had many venues to play. Tom McDonald and Ken Cooper, both formerly members of 1950s groups, ran many of these and managed the bands....Info and Image C/- Ross Burgess.
